Wat San Fran Dhammaram

Mae Chee Im was the last nun ordained by Acariya Thoon Khippapanyo before his passing in November 2008. After closely following and practicing Acariya Thoon’s methods for many years, Im Tongpaibul ordained as a nun on July 15, 2008. Acariya Thoon once mentioned that Mae Im (then, Im Thongpaibul) was someone that many people would come to rely on in the future. Her ability to elucidate complex dhamma in a simple and applicable way made her a favorite among practitioners wherever she was. A veteran KPY member, Mae Chee Im had been reaping the benefits of practicing in Acariya Thoon’s tradition for many years. It was only fitting that her first rains retreat was spent at KPY Redwood Valley.

Mae Chee Im, a Khon Kaen native, will divide her time between Wat Pa Ban Koh in Udon Thani, Thailand and Wat San Fran Dhammaram. Wherever Mae Chee Im may be, there is sure to be a great benefit for all practitioners who meet her.

แม่ชี อิ่มเป็นแม่ชีคนสุดท้ายที่หลวงพ่อทูลท่านบวชให้ก่อน ที่ท่านจากละธาตุขันธ์ไปเมื่อ 11 พฤศจิกายน 2008 หลังจากที่แม่อิ่มได้เคยฝึกปฏิบัติในแนวทางของหลวงพ่อมาหลายปี ท่านออกบวชเมื่อวันที่ 15 กรกฏาคม 2008 เมื่อครั้นแม่อิ่มยังเป็นฆราวาสนั้น หลวงพ่อทูลเคยกล่าวไว้ว่า แม่อิ่มจะเป็นที่พึ่งของคนหมู่มากในอนาคต ด้วยความที่แม่อิ่มมีความสามารถในการตีความธรรมะที่แยบคายให้กลายเป็นธรรมะ ที่ง่ายต่อการปฏิบัติ แม่อิ่มจึงเป็นที่เคารพยิ่งในกลุ่มนักปฏิบัติชาว KPY

แม้แม่ อิ่มเป็นชาวขอนแก่นโดยกำเนิด และบวชที่เมืองไทย ท่านมีปกติที่จะเดินทางไปมาระหว่างวัดป่าบ้านค้อ ที่อุดรธานี และ วัดซานฟรานธัมมาราม ซึ่งท่านจะสามารถยังประโยชน์แก่นักปฏิบติในทุกแห่งหนที่ท่าน ไป

FUNDRAISER

Mae Chee Im is leading a very successful fundraiser to raise money to help pay off the temple’s mortgage. She has volunteered her valuable 40+ years of expertise in knitting and crochet (she owns a thread and yarn shop in Thailand) to the temple. Currently many people stop by everyday to learn, watch, or develop their knitting and crochet technique. People of all ages from 9 year olds to the elderly stop by to see Mae Chee Im.
