Join Us for Songkran at Watsanfran

Songkran is a celebration of the Thai New Year in which people traditionally visit temples, make merit, and participate in a watering ceremonies. During the watering ceremony, scented water is poured onto the Buddha’s relics, monks, nuns, and temple elders as a symbol of purification and washing away of one’s sins and bad luck.

01:30 p.m. Fun and water games at Elk Glen Picnic Area (opposite Mallard Lake at Golden Gate Park)
*If you plan to participate in the games at the park, be sure to bring some spare clothes!
**Instruction to Elk Glen Picnic Area: go on Lincoln Way toward 25th Ave, then turn on 25th Ave towards the park, then make a left on Martin Luther King Jr Dr, Elk Glen Picnic Area is on your right hand side in 0.2 miles, opposite Mallard Lake at Golden Gate Park.
